Quality inspection of double-sided adhesive tape
The main points of double sided tape quality inspection are as following:
1 Checking whether there is a crack in double side adhesive tape.
When cutting the double-sided adhesive tape, there will be some cracks on the substrate of the double-sided adhesive tape if cutting tool’s adjustment is not suitable or not enough sharp. And where there is a crack, there will be sticky. The occurrence of cracks may be continuous or be random, may appeared in one side of the drum double-sided tape or on both sides. Therefore, even a little crack must be found out before the double-sided tape installed on the machine.
Take a bit of sample mentioned above, then take off the release paper and check whether there are some cracks on the release paper or adhesive tape or not. The crack is too small to found out unless you take off the release paper
2 Checking the deckle edge of the double-sided adhesive tape
What guarantees the basic quality of the double-sided tape is the drum double-sided tape’s edge is bright and clean and no damages. So, the double-sided adhesive tape must be checked carefully before being for production. The checkpoints include that whether there are some deckle edges of the double-sided adhesive tape or some damages due to the improper storage or transportation. When checking, the drum double-sided tape needs to be removed 4 or 5 laps to check the cutting edge carefully.
3 Checking the straightness of the reel double-sided tape’s section and the consistency of the reel double-sided tape’s tightness
If the end face of the roller (double-sided adhesive tape) is not even, the alignment will be impacted, what’s more, the waste discharging will be more difficult due to the change of the die-cutting location. If the tightness of the roller is inconsistent, the tension of the tape will be affected and so it is with the quality problem of sticking.
